“I first met Tjay in 2020, when he interviewed me for a podcast he was taking part in, to support

children and young people during Covid, at the time, I was Lead Member for Children’s Services inTorbay and I was very impressed by

Tjay’s confident and articulate interview style, especially as he was only 11years old at the time.

Indeed, I was so impressed with things he said that I took some of his suggestions back to Torbay

Council and from this came our very successful 2 years of online celebrations for our Children and

Young People who are in our Virtual School.

More recently, I attended a Variety Evening Tjay had organised, to showcase the talents of the

young people who attend one of our Alternative Provisions. It is fair to say I was blown away by

the organisation and hard work that Tjay had put into the evening; music, food and an amazing

array of donations from local businesses that he had organised for a raffle to raise money.

I watched TJay as he worked so incredibly hard on the night to ensure that everything ran

smoothly and everyone had a good time. I have a background in events and I was highly

impressed by the professional, self-motivated and thorough way Tjay approached and ran the evening.

I have no doubts that Tjay has a great future ahead of him and I am delighted to be able to provide him with a reference.”
